Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that is widely used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including substance abuse. Our rehabilitation center offers CBT as part of our comprehensive treatment program for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and that by changing how we think and perceive situations, we can change our emotions and actions. Our team will work with clients to identify and challenge negative or distorted thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to their substance use.
Through weekly individual and group therapy sessions at our addiction center in Haddam, CT, clients will learn the following:
How to recognize and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs.
How to identify triggers for substance use and develop coping strategies to manage them.
How to set realistic goals and work towards achieving them.
How to improve communication and problem-solving skills.
CBT has been shown to be an effective treatment for substance abuse and other mental health conditions. Our clients can expect to see improvements in their ability to manage their thoughts and emotions, reduce their substance use, and improve their overall quality of life.
If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction and need comprehensive treatment, please contact us to learn more about our CBT services and how we can help.
